WELCOME!

We are a small farm in Northern Michigan that is in the process of launching our program for Irish Kerry Bog Ponies, planning to promote, preserve, and protect this rare and unique breed. We are the pioneering farm that brought the first Kerry Bog Pony to Michigan and are currently the only owners of Kerry Bogs in the state!

We are excited to announce two things here at Silvery Moon!

First off, our mare Lily is In Foal to Dancer! We are looking forward to our August 2018 foal!

Also, in registering Kili with the IKBPA, we had him coat color tested to see if he carries his dam's rare and unique leopard complex gene. He came back with the result of LP/N - meaning he has 1 copy of the gene! We are so thrilled!! We were crossing our fingers and toes that we could get a buckskin leopard from the beginning. We were excited to get the buckskin and now even more excited that the final wish was granted!!! We cannot wait to see what he'll produce in the future! His possibilities are endless!

We hope everyone enjoyed a warm, sunny summer and you all are enjoying a peaceful start to autumn!

Today we took our mares Dixie and Kate to our local mini fair! It was the first time we brought the ponies out to an event and they loved it! And people attending the fair loved it too! It was a great sucess and we'll be back again next year!

We are excited to announce that our Kerry Bog mare, Dixie has been confirmed In Foal to our stallion Dancer!! This will be Dixie's first and we are enthusiastically looking forward to our April 2018 foal!

We had also bred Lily, but sadly she didn't take. So we'll be placing her back in with Dancer later in the week. Here's to hoping we'll get a June 2018 foal with her!

We took photos of Kili to celebrate his first official day as a yearling! They can be seen on his page and Gallery.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

As spring is on the way, so is the time to consider breeding the mares! We are going to be placing our mares Lily and Dixie in with Dancer on the first weekend of May in hopes for late spring foals in 2018. It will be the first foals that we'll produce here at Silvery Moon and we just cannot contain our excitement!

We are also standing Dancer at stud to a limited number of outside mares during his 2017 breeding season, which will last from May 1st to October 30th. We're offering an introductory stud fee of $250.

If you are interested in breeding your mare to this handsome gentleman, feel free to contact us for more information!

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patrick's Day Weekend!

With the excitement of the first day of Spring, would like to take today to finally announce the acquisition of another Kerry Bog Pony!!

We had gotten another stallion back on October 16th- the exact same time as our stud colt, Kili. However, we were not comfortable announcing his arrival due to the unexpectedly horrible condition he arrived in. Per an analysis of the vet, his was not sick, just chronically neglected. So after spending the whole winter working on proper feed, grooming, and room to run, he has improved dramatically! He still has a ways to go in regaining his muscle tone, but we expect that to improve this summer, as the weather allows for more turn out and better exercise.

So we are pleased to welcome... The Bog Dancer!

You can read all about Dancer at his page.
